Deadline extended to 15 January
The British Council is seeking a UK consultancy organisation experienced in grant management to provide capacity strengthening support to Egypt’s Science, Technology and Innovation Funding (STDF) Authority.
This technical assistance programme aims to strengthen STDF’s grant management practices, by empowering STDF team members with the necessary knowledge, skills and practical experience. The programme will also help the STDF effectively link the impact of scientific research with Egypt's eco-system and development goals, ultimately contributing to the advancement of the scientific and technological landscape in the country.
Details of the technical assistance programme
The required capacity strengthening support will cover:
- an online workshop covering essential topics related to grant management, including proposal development, budgeting, project monitoring, reporting, and compliance.
- one-week hands-on experience in the UK giving STDF team members will have the opportunity to gain practical experience by shadowing an experienced organisation for a period of one week.
- a progress report and impact assessment at the conclusion of the technical assistance programme to assess the impact of the technical assistance programme on their professional development and the organisation's grant management practices.

This technical assistance opportunity is open to UK organisations with:
- experience in managing large-scale grant programmes
- expertise in grant management:
- capacity to host one-week residency programme for STDF staff
- the ability to offer a shadowing opportunity for STDF staff to observe and work closely with experienced grant management professionals
- strong network and collaborations within the science and research community
- the ability to tailore technical assistance to specific needs and context of the STDF
- an established comprehensive evaluation mechanism to assess the effectiveness of the technical assistance programme.
