UK universities can apply for new research challenge grants to collaborate with universities in SOutheast Asia on gender equity, diversity, and inclusivity.

The grants are offered through phase two of the Strengthening Leadership with Gender Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity in Higher Education Institutions in South East Asia project, which is part of the British Council’s Going Global Partnerships programme .

Jointly introduced by SEAMEO RIHED and the British Council, the challenge grants offer an exciting opportunity to support collaborative research on gender equity, diversity, and inclusivity between higher education institutions in Southeast Asia and the UK.

With total funding of up to £60,000, the grants will support up to four research projects, each receiving a maximum of £15,000. The aim is to address gender equity, diversity and inclusivity-related issues in higher education institutions across Southeast Asia, fostering evidence-based decision-making for a sustainable future in higher education and establishing a cross-cultural gender equity, diversity and inclusivity network between UK and Southeast Asian institutions.

The call is open to the 35 Southeast Asian higher education institutions participating in the project and all UK higher education institutions.
