The British Council seeks an experienced facilitator to deliver training courses on Transnational Education for leaders of EU higher education institutions

The British Council is seeking a supplier to deliver four Internationalisation Learning Cohorts as part of the Going Global Partnerships Programme in Greece, France and Poland, and one regional cohort. These courses will be delivered online between January and March 2023. Delegates will be senior level employees of EU higher education institutions (Academic VP, Director of International Programmes, Assistant Dean, Vice Chairman).

The Internationalisation Learning Cohorts model is a new activity which forms part of the British Council’s Going Global Partnerships Programme. The learning cohorts enable the British Council to convene UK and overseas experts and strengthen internationalisation through bringing together an interested cohort of Higher Education Institution (HEI) leaders, senior managers, policymakers to have a sustained dialogue over a relevant theme. This is to enable virtual networking around some significant content of mutual interest, tackling issues together (e.g., internationalisation of higher education; understanding transnational education, innovative approaches to TNE). Each cohort will meet online for a 2-hour discussion every week for a total of four sessions.

The successful supplier will be expected to manage and deliver all online sessions. Cohort learning outcomes and content has already been designed, but this may require modifying content where necessary, depending on the profile of the cohort participants. A maximum of 16 participants will be invited to each cohort. This relatively small number of participants will be conducive to in-depth conversation, allowing for cohorts to assume more of a discussion, rather than lecture dynamic. The supplier will also be responsible for designing and delivering legacy and partnering sessions that will take place once a cohort has come to an end. These sessions are a key output of the cohorts – developing long-term networks and supporting the creation of partnerships with the UK sector. Cohorts and sessions will vary depending on the participants and their context and experiences, but will follow a structure that include presentations, plenary and breakout discussions, reviews of contemporary case studies, and take-home collaborative tasks.

To address this requirement, the British Council is seeking a supplier with experience in online course delivery to deliver 4 Internationalisation Learning Cohorts concurrently: one pan-EU cohort, one cohort in Greece, one cohort in Poland and one cohort in France. Sufficient resource will need to be available to manage this. Experience in content creation is also desirable due to the possible requirement of content modification. The successful applicant will use their experience to deliver short-term, high-impact cohorts and follow up legacy and partnering sessions. Cohorts will be delivered in line with participant availability and demand.
