The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (*JSPS) provides a fellowship for young researchers, “The JSPS Summer Program”. The program provides the opportunity for young researchers to participate in an orientation on Japanese culture and research systems and to conduct collaborative research activities with leading research groups at Japanese Universities and research institutions over a period of two months during the summer.

The JSPS Summer Program 2015 is now open for application. 10 fellowships will be granted in FY 2015 over a period of two months. Successful candidates must start the fellowship in Japan during the period of 9 June – 19 August 2015. Applicants must be British nationals and be a current PhD or MPhil student at a British university at the point of April 2015. Awards include: return international airfare, maintenance allowance, domestic research trip allowance and overseas travel and accident insurance policy.
