Facebook Q&A, an effective digital marketing channel to reach Vietnamese students

According to “Vietnam Digital Landscape 2015” Report, Facebook continues to be the most powerful social media channel in Vietnam. It is also one of the most effective digital marketing channel to reach Vietnamese young people.

Therefore in 2016, British Council Vietnam will strengthen digital marketing services for UK institutions on Facebook platform, firstly by inviting UK institutions to participate in a series of Facebook Q&A sessions starting from February 2016 to interact directly with prospective students for the purpose of profile raising and student recruitment in Vietnam.

Facebook Q&A sessions will be organised in ‘UK in my eyes’ Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/NuocAnhTrongMatToi), which is one component of the ‘UK in my eyes’ PR project that have been run by the British Council Vietnam for the past 4 years. Until now, the programme has attracted 77,000 Facebook members and 4,000 unique website visitors per month. This channel helps to connect prospective students with UK alumni through frequent Education UK updates, activities, and campaigns during the year.

In 2016, 8 Q&A sessions will be organised throughout the year. Up to 4 UK institutions can participate in one session which is promoted widely on all British Council communication channels such as British Council website, Education UK website, Education UK E-newsletter.

Each Q&A session will be online for two hours, during which Facebook members post their questions and get direct answers from participating UK institutions and their alumni. Questions are about institutions, courses on offer or different aspects of studying and living in the UK.

Besides participating in Facebook Q&A sessions, there are also three types of advertising packages for UK institutions to participate in the programme “UK in my eyes” in year 2016. Please refer to the Advertising Proposal for further information.
