Call for UK University to Host Career Development Workshop for Chinese Students in the UK in November

The British Council China will run a series of career development workshops in the UK in November 2015 aimed at Chinese students who are currently studying in the UK. UK institutions are invited to submit expressions of interest to host the workshops.

About the workshops

We plan to run a series of career development workshops in the UK aimed at Chinese students. The workshops will be hosted by selected universities, with preference given to universities with a large number of Chinese students. The target areas are Scotland, the Midlands, South West England, and London.

We will invite HR executives from major employers in China to give presentations and hold Q&A sessions to help students improve their understanding of the job market in China and employers’ needs. In addition, we will also invite employers to participate in a mini job fair and provide information about recruitment opportunities in China for graduates. Each workshop will last for a duration of about three hours.

Aims

  • To give Chinese students an overview of the current job market in China
  • To give Chinese students advice on their career development
  • To introduce current job opportunities in China to Chinese students.

Dates

The workshops will take place between 6 November and 13 November 2015*, with weekday sessions ideally taking place in the evening and weekend sessions in the afternoon.

*These are provisional dates and subject to change.
