Baden-Württemberg International and Baden-Württemberg’s Ministry for Science, Research and the Arts are inviting UK HEIs to join them in Stuttgart for a 1-day conference on the future of collaboration in Science and Higher Education after Brexit.

In addition to the conference programme (link: https://www.bw-i.de/uploads/tx_cal/media/Draft_Program_Brexit-Workshop_Stuttg_Stand_06.06.2018.pdf ) there will be opportunity to network with representatives from universities and research institutions.

Themes are funding opportunities for joint research, identifying opportunities for joint projects across different research fields and the future of ERASMUS.

Baden-Württemberg is the third-largest German state both in terms of area and number of inhabitants. It is a highly industrialised and research oriented region and among the most affluent regions in Europe.

It is home to 70 higher education institutions including three of the eleven German 'excellence universities' (Heidelberg, Tübingen, and Konstanz).

Many research institutions are also based in Baden-Württemberg including Max-Planck Institutes, Max-Planck, Fraunhofer, Leibniz and Helmholtz Institutes. .

In addition to many SMEs numerous well-known enterprises, e.g. Daimler AG, Porsche, Robert Bosch GmbH plus Carl Zeiss AG (optics), SAP (largest software enterprise in Europe) have their headquarters in Baden-Württemberg.

The conference will take place at Haus der Wirtschaft on 19 October 2018 in Baden-Württemberg’s capital, Stuttgart.
