On 23 June, the Department for Education confirmed that EU, EEA and Swiss students starting studies in England from the 2021-2 academic year onwards (i.e. from August 2021) will no longer be eligible for 'home fee' status, or for student finance from Student FInance England. At the time, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland were still to confirm (Scotland made a similar statement after this webinar was recorded).

We partnered with BUILA to deliver a webinar for education counsellors based in EU countries about what those changes mean.

While the webinar was not specifically targeted at UK sector representatives (although several universities did join us), UK sector members may find the content of the webinar interesting, particularly the questions that came in from counsellors.

Slides are available to download below. If you have any feedback on the webinar, you are welcome to fill out our online feedback form or contact Almut Caspary and Ellie Buchdahl.

We are calling for expressions of interest from UK institutions to be part of our month-long virtual engagement platform with EU students in October 2020. Find out more here.
