About the UK-Malaysia-China Higher Education Forum 2025, in Kuala Lumpur
Theme: A Strategic Alliance for Global Excellence
When and where: 19 February 2025 at Sunway University, Malaysia
With increasingly complex global challenges ahead, the need for strong, multilateral partnerships in higher education is pressing. Stronger collaboration between the UK, Malaysia and China will better achieve shared goals of academic excellence, technological innovation and global sustainability.
The British Council’s UK-Malaysia-China Higher Education Forum brings together the higher education expertise, shared strategic ambitions and collaborative weight of three countries to bear on how they and the wider ASEAN HE community can best identify synergies that will have far-reaching impact for global higher education.
The UK-Malaysia-China Education Forum 2025 will be a catalyst for stronger partnerships in education, research, talent development and economic growth.
This forum will:
- bring together the UK-Malaysia University Consortium and the UK-Jiangsu University Consortium – both facilitated by the British Council
- build on existing diplomatic and partnership frameworks to create deeper, more responsive and adaptable partnerships between the UK, Malaysia and China, enabling them to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world
- set the stage for sustainable HE partnerships to drive innovation and excellence in the region and beyond
- seek to establish a shared strategy and Statement of Intent for a new era of multilateral cooperation.
Participation in the forum is open to all UK universities and not restricted to members of the UK-Malaysia University Consortium. There is no registration fee for the Forum, however delegates would need to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.
