The British High Commission in Brunei Darussalam in collaboration with British Council Malaysia will be hosting a Study UK Fair located at The Empire Hotel on 10 February 2025 14:00-19:00. This will be the first event of its kind since 2017 to support student recruitment & engagement activity in Brunei for UK university institutions.
The event will not be charged so as to encourage as wide an attendance as possible and spaces will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. The High Commission will also be working with local agents to support wider activity. The date for this event has been chosen to align with the Ministry of Education Higher Education Expo on 08-09 February 2025.
The UK retains its position the #1 study destination of choice for prospective Bruneian students. This preference for British higher education stems from the strong cultural, historical, & education ties, as well as continued support within Brunei Government for UK education through scholarship programmes. The Ministry of Education, Ministry of Defence, & Ministry of Health provide over 120 scholarships to UK institutions every year as well as a generous loan scheme. Numerous Bruneian institutions & businesses also offer scholarships to the UK such as Brunei-Shell Joint-Venture, Royal Brunei Airlines, and all 3 local universities. Brunei hosts 4 international schools which are based on British curriculum.
