Project background:
China's financial system has expanded rapidly over the last few years as monetary policy becomes increasingly integral to its overall economic policy. As a result, there is a growing demand from China’s banking sector for a wider range of skills and knowledge to meet the constantly changing challenges faced by the financial sector.
British Council China is working with a Chinese partner to create an opportunity for a service provider in the UK to provide training in light of the demand above.
Programme criteria
Aims
The online MBA programme should be:
tailored for professionals with careers in the banking sector;
providing training in strategic planning, management, and best practice in banking.
Format
- A 3-year programme with flexible course schedules is preferred.
- A substantial proportion of courses should be related to financial business. These could include accounting, finance, financial analysis, etc.
- An annual one-month study at the UK campus is required (expenses occurred to be covered by clients).
Fees
- A total of CNY100,000-150,000 for 3 years (excluding the costs occurred during study in the UK)
- It is preferred that fees are settled in two to three instalments at the beginning of each semester (as opposed to in one lump sum).
Assessment
Students should be awarded with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) after the final assessment.
Other
- The service provider should be a higher education institution recognised by the Ministry of Education in China.
- Expertise in business or finance is preferred but not essential.

Proposals should be submitted in the format of the template provided in the proposal form (in .doc or .pdf format). Please send completed proposals to Ms Feng Ying by 30 September 2013.

Please note the British Council is only involved in the provision of partnership brokering services. No staff or representatives of the British Council will have any involvement in the evaluation of proposals or any influence on the final decision to award a contract. This decision lies solely with the Chinese partner that will be conducting the evaluation based on the following assessment criteria:
- Cost effectiveness of programme
- Programme design and course structure
- Profile of the course instructors
