Study UK Discover You February 2017 exhibitions kick off with All India Briefing at Bangalore

Study UK: Discover you February 2017 leg of India exhibitions commenced on 2 February in the city of Bangalore. The All India exhibition pre-briefing along with networking drinks and dinner reception was held on 2 February at Vivanta by Taj, Bangalore. The evening was graced by over 170 guests including over 65 delegates from 52 participating UK institutions and local contacts.

The reception invitation was extended to Chevening scholars, GREAT scholars, local education contacts and agents.

The evening started with a welcome note by Mei-kwei Barker, Director British Council, South India.

Richard Everitt, Director Education and Society, British Council, India gave an Overview of the current happenings in Education sector across India. Following this was the launch of the report on ‘Skill Requirements for Young Professionals in India’ by Richard Everitt and Leighton Ernsberger, Head of British Council Bengaluru and Skills India. This report explores the skills gap identified by graduates and young professionals in India, covering 12 Indian cities and 7 sectors.

The formal bit of the evening concluded with an update on Tier 4 Student visa update by Natasha Woollcombe Regional Communications Manager South and Southeast Asia, UK Visas and Immigration

Last but not the least, more than 7 GREAT scholars who were recently back after completing their respective courses from the UK were felicitated and awarded certificates.
