The British Council offices in India have facilitated and coordinated numerous visits and programmes by UK Universities over the last month.

We began the month with `UK in City’ at Dehradun, one of the education hubs of North India. In this event five UK universities had the opportunity to promote their undergraduate and postgraduate courses across seven prominent schools and two Higher Education Institutions in the city. This helped participating UK Universities build relationships with the Indian institutions and create opportunities related to academic visits, summer schools, student recruitment and student exchange collaborations. It also created awareness and promotion of the UK as a leading destination for education opportunities.

In Mumbai and Delhi, Kings’ College London convened a presentation for offer holders where Elisa Checcacci, Senior International Officer delivered an informal session followed by a reception with alumni to prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students.

DeMontfort University’s India office launch in Delhi proves yet again the growing interest in the Indian market by UK institutions.
The British Council Delhi hosted an exhibition in its Queens Gallery by Arts University Bournemouth, which comprised top twenty entries of a student contest held by the university titled `Who Are You 2’.

Further South, the British Council’s premises in Chennai had Cass Business School from City University and University of East London delivering personalised counseling sessions to prospective students and parents while SOAS held lectures for their offer holders. The Chennai office also held seminars delivered by Sheffield Hallam University targeting audiences from Hospitals, Physiotherapist and professionals.

Our digital work continued through web showcasings of University of Gloucestershire and University of Falmouth.

May was a busy month for us, but June promises to be busier still, full of activities and visits. Watch this space for more on India’s work with UK Universities.
