European Education Fair Taiwan (EEFT), October 2014 - REPORT

With nearly 7,500 visitors and 127 paid booths including 50 UK institutions, the EEFT 2014 was a full house and well received by visitors and exhibitors.

Starting from Friday and opening at noon, there were not expected to be large numbers of visitors in the early afternoon. In fact the turnout in Tainan exceeded expectations, together with a hectic weekend in Taipei where visitors were focused and showed interest in diverse disciplines.

However the venues used this year are smaller and are not designed for exhibitions, which led to some complaints about space and stand visibility from exhibitors. However there have also been positive comments on venues as the proximity to institutions provided access to better quality of students.

In terms of market development, Taiwan continues to be regarded as PG-focused whilst some exhibitors have noticed that visitors came with a better understanding of pathways and growing interest in subject areas other than business/MBA and arts/design.
