The European Education Fair Taiwan (EEFT) 2012 Post-event Report

The EEFT 2012 received positive feedback in general from both visitors and exhibitors for its successful promotional campaign, increased number of partners and sponsors, fresh look-and-feel of new venues and designs, and its efforts to promote benefits that one can gain from education in Europe such as international experience and improved employability. The three-day fair attracted 6,400 visitors (including a renowned celebrity actress who recently won the Best Actress for a TV award!), attended by more than 100 institutions from 13 European countries.

UK remained its strong presence in the Fair with Education UK branded identity, the GREAT displays, and a mini exhibition focusing on reservation and application of industrial heritage. Together with quality information provision through branded publications, e.g. ‘Inspiration UK’ and UK agent booklet, the UK pavilion successfully showcased the excellence and creativity of British education in this promotional event that is the largest in Taiwan.

While Taiwan has increasingly become a market for quality rather than quantity, majority of exhibitors commented that they were impressed with both the quality and quantity of visitors they saw. It was also observed that there has been an increasing level of interest in undergraduate studies in the UK, which was believed to be resulted from the mounting concerns with the local system, both at secondary and tertiary level.

An area for improvement was the professional networking session with local institution due to the insufficient number of attendants and local of relevant background information to facilitate pre-meeting preparation. The future of this arrangement will be under review in relation to feedback from the sector.

The next exhibition in Taiwan will take place on 2 – 4 March 2013. For detailed information please see the Taiwan exhibition page.
