Education UK Exhibition Azerbaijan April 2015 - Post Event Report

British Council Azerbaijan successfully organized its 4th Education UK event in Baku on the 11th-12th April 2015. It was the second time we have held a special event for the schools and colleges and 17 British schools, colleges and ELT providers joined our initiative. We had lots of positive feedback, and at the same time there were new learning points that we will take into consideration at future events.

This report consists of the key statistics from the event, exhibitor and visitor feedback analysis, a marketing activities summary and related activities from the exhibition, as well as a few useful recommendations for the UK educational institutions. We also put a few inspirational photos from the exhibition in the report, and are sharing some of the local media links that covered the exhibition before and during the event (some of the links are in English).

British Council Azerbaijan will organize its next exhibition for the 7th-8th November 2015 with British universities, colleges, school and ELT providers. So far, 80 UK educational brands have joined our events in Baku over the last 3 years. We hope to see most of them again at our 5th exhibition in Baku this autumn. Registration is now open for the event at the following link: https://education-services.britishcouncil.org/exhibition/education-uk-exhibition-azerbaijan-november-2015.

There are 38 UK Universities on the State Scholarship Program on Education of Azerbaijani Youth Abroad, which ends this year. The UK is the number one destination in the program and during the last eight years, the toal number of students sent to the UK is 724. It is expected that the government will start a new program from next year. Besides this, 50% of the total UG and PG market, as well as 100% of schools and colleges students, are self funded. Around 500 self funded Azerbaijani students are undertaking short term courses in recent years. It is an emerging market with great potential for the next few years. British Council Azerbaijan is always happy to help support the UK as the best study abroad destination.
