University in East China seeks a UK university partner for summer school and faculty members exchange programme

A university in East China is looking for a UK university to partner with on two projects.

Firstly, they wish to send around 20 students to the UK for two to three weeks in August 2017 for a summer school programme organised by the UK partner. The aim of the summer school is to improve the students’ English language skills and understanding of British culture.  The total cost of the programme, including round-trip airfare, accommodation, meals and other personal expenses, will be covered by the students.

Secondly, the university will also fund and send around 20 faculty members to the partnering UK institution for two to three weeks in 2017 to follow a management training course, with the aim of learning advanced international university/college management theory to improve their managerial skills, and to expand their international perspective.

Benefits for the UK partner

The UK partner will have the opportunity to:

  • build a long-term partnership with one of the top universities in East China, with possible expansion and further collaboration in future
  • raise their institution’s profile and brand awareness in China.

Areas of responsibility for the two collaborating parties

For the UK partner:

  • to develop and deliver a summer school programme for 20 students from the Chinese university in August 2017
  • to develop and deliver a management training programme for 20 faculty members from the Chinese University in the 2017/18 academic year.

For the Chinese university:

  • promotion and recruitment of students and faculty members for the programmes
  • provision of two supervisors to assist all students throughout the summer school
  • coordination of students’ and faculty members’ UK visa applications and international ticket booking
  • guidance for Chinese students and faculty members before they leave for the UK.
