The UK-Ukraine Partnership Grant Scheme, from Going Global Partnerships, aims to facilitate collaborations between UK and six selected Ukrainian higher education institutions, with a view to enhancing ongoing institutional change projects.

An initial funding round covers study visits from Ukraine to the UK.

A second funding round will be launched to support further partnership activities between successful first round applicants.

Focus

The grant scheme involves six Ukrainian universities that have established institutional change projects through the British Council’s Leaders of University Transformation for Ukraine’s Reinvention (LUTUR) programme.

The aim is to identify a UK institution to collaborate with each of these selected Ukrainian institutions, to support and enhance their institutional change projects by providing experience and expertise.

Activities

The scheme covers two stages of activities.

Stage one: study visit to the UK institution

The UK university will host a team from the Ukrainian university to share best practice, discuss ways to enhance the existing institutional change project, and explore opportunities for long-term collaboration.

Grant amount: £5,000

Covers: visa fees, travel, accommodation and subsistence for a minimum of three Ukrainian participants over three full working days in the UK

Stage two: partnership activities

Once study visits have been completed, a closed funding call will be launched among initial grant recipients, where partnerships can submit joint proposals to implement projects in the Ukrainian institution to support institutional change.

Grant amount: £10,000

Covers: project implementation

Application process

This initial funding round is for six £5,000 study visit grants.

UK institutions should apply for a specific project and institution, based on the project themes and study visit aims outlined in the Guidance Notes document below.
