Background information on the Department for Education of the Shaanxi Provincial Government and football environment

The ten university PE teachers will be selected by the Department for Education of the Shaanxi Provincial Government. As part of China’s 13th five year plan, a national “School Football Development Plan” has been implemented, which aims to increase the number of schools with strengths in football to 20,000 by 2020 and 50,000 by 2025, and the number of football coaches to 50,000 by 2020.

The Department expects the teachers to learn the advanced UK PE and football education theories, course design, and activities during the class. Once they have returned from the training, they will share their learning experience with other PE teachers at the local universities and educate their own university students in order to support the demand for school-level football education training in Shaanxi Province.

Requirements

The UK partner must provide at least one qualified PE teacher with at least five years of relevant professional experience. Ideally, the teacher should have experience of providing training in an international context (e.g. overseas).

The programme should be delivered around 15 July within a budget of RMB 22,000 per teacher. The budget should cover all the services as listed above.

The training should be delivered in English with the support of an interpreter if needed.

The Chinese partner has expressed a preference for UK providers based in and around London or Manchester.
