Tamagawa Academy in Tokyo, Japan, is looking for UK partners to host IB MYP students

Tamagawa Academy in Japan is looking for a number of UK independent schools which offer IB Middle Year Programmes (MYP) to host their students for study year abroad.

Tamagawa Academy offers IB programmes for 160 students. At Year 10 (15 – 16 year olds), students are encouraged to study abroad for a period of 7 to 10 months (sometime between June and September to the end of March) as part of MYP and every year there are a few students who wish to go to the UK.  They are seeking to partner with a few UK independent schools that can host such students starting from summer 2017.

The potential partner schools must have IB MYP provision and be able to host students either through homestay or in-school residence.

Brief profile of Tamagawa Academy:
Tamagawa Academy is a Japanese school that is accredited by the Ministry of Education (MEXT).  It was established in 1929 and currently provides education from kindergarten to graduate schools within a single campus located in the southern part of Tokyo.

Tamagawa Academy counts international education among its ideals, and one of the ways in which it realizes that ideal is through its International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes. The IB Course at Tamagawa Academy is an integrated educational system spanning the Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. These classes are conducted in English, and students are encouraged to apply knowledge and skills acquired through coursework to study at higher education level.
