Study Tour Programme for Filipino University Students

The hotel and restaurant industry is a booming sector in the Philippines, aiding its fast economic growth. For years now, the hospitality degree has been attracting students because of high job demand and business opportunities both locally and abroad. British Council in the Philippines is pushing for initiatives to address this opportunity to support and expose Filipino students to UK culture and education in the field.

Our university partner offers a full range of bachelor's degree and non-degree courses in the fields of international hospitality management and business administration. They ensure that their students get international practical exposure and experience to prepare them for leadership positions in the global business environment.

We are looking for UK educational partners to support the programme. We intend to send hospitality, tourism, and business management university students, age 18 - 21, for a study tour to the UK to learn more and be exposed to the UK’s culture, cuisines, and innovations in the UK’s hotel and restaurant industry. The experience and skills they will get from the programme will be invaluable in their professional pursuits after university.

We are looking at a schedule where students arrive in the UK in late October during their semestral break and spend two weeks for the programme

The UK educational partner will be in-charge of:
a. Organising the educational tour itinerary
b. Transfers and pick-ups
c. Accommodation for students including one chaperone

Preferred programme inclusions are:
a. Exposure trips to UK pubs, restaurants, and hotels
b. Opportunity to sit in academic lectures on hospitality and tourism
c. Opportunity to experience UK culture and arts
d. Exposure to best practices in Hospitality and Tourism

British Council will be facilitating and arranging all flights, visa, and necessary support in the Philippines.

The quoted programme fee will include:
a. Programme management in the UK
b. Accommodation (kindly indicate prices for catering options)
c. Airport Transfers
d. Fees for exposure trips
e. Insurance

We are anticipating a minimum of ten and a maximum of twenty participants.
