Speaking opportunity at the British Council China Study UK counsellors’ workshop

Background

In China, school counsellors play an important role in guiding students through their overseas education decision-making process, including long-term and short-term courses. These counsellors in international schools are the front-line representatives for UK education, supporting the recruitment of quality Chinese students and they are closely in touch with market sentiments.

The British Council provides regular professional development training opportunities for counsellors in China. The training sessions offer accurate and up to date information and resources to support in-country counsellors to develop their knowledge of UK education and build their capacity to support their students who are interested in studying in the UK.

British Council Study UK counsellors’ workshop

The British Council would like to invite one speaker from a UK higher education institution for each subject to deliver a 30-minute presentation, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session at four counsellor workshops in Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu. The workshops are designed to provide professional development training to Chinese school counsellors. The British Council anticipates 170 counsellors from international schools in China to attend. And the sessions in Beijing will be recorded and posted in the Study UK counsellor E-community after the workshops to reach 500+ counsellors virtually in total.
