Skills partnership in renewable energy with Tanzania

UK further education colleges and training organisations can now apply for funding opportunity to partner with two selected colleges in Tanzania in the area of renewable energy.

This is an excellent opportunity for a UK training provider to build their network and capacity to work internationally.

About the grant

The selected college will be eligible for a grant of £30,000 to support partnership activities.

Activities can include reciprocal visits to the UK and Tanzania, staff time (limited to 30% of the grant), the development of tools and resources, etc.

About the partnership

The selected UK partner will collaborate with Arusha Technical College and VETA Singida in Tanzania, with a thematic focus of curriculum development and innovative teaching methodologies and technologies within the renewable energy sector.

The partners will work together to produce action plans for the partnership.

The British Council teams in the UK and in Tanzania will provide ongoing advice and guidance throughout the partnership to help facilitate communication and deliver maximum benefit.

The project will run for a duration of 12 months, starting at the end of September 2024.

This call for proposals is part of the British Council’s Going Global Partnerships programme, which builds stronger, more inclusive, internationally connected higher education and TVET systems by supporting partnerships between universities, colleges, education policymakers, civil society organisations and industry partners around the world.
