Showcase your offers in the 2016 UK Summer School Programmes China Roadshow

A unique opportunity to tap into the fast-growing demand for UK summer school programmes in China.

14 - 18 November 2016

Beijing – Hangzhou – Guangzhou

The UK has the largest share of English language students studying outside their home country, with almost 50 per cent of students by volume and 35 per cent of the global market by value. In 2014, more than 42,000 Chinese students participated in the UK’s summer/winter school programmes - an increase of more than 10 per cent compared to 2013.

Partnering with English UK, the national association of accredited English language centres in the UK, the British Council has been organising this summer school roadshow since 2009. It has become an important channel for Chinese agents to gain up-to-date information on visa regulations, market intelligence, and meet both old and new school partners.

Last year, around 300 high-quality agents from all over China attended the roadshows. It provides an ideal opportunity for UK summer school providers to meet education consultancies, travel agents and local educational institutions who are actively engaged in this fast-growing sector. Schools will be able to raise and enhance their school profile and recognition in the market through the event.

What does the roadshow include?

The roadshow in each city will include agent fairs and agent seminars. At the agent fairs, each UK institution is provided with 12-20 time slots to meet with potential or existing partners in China. These meetings will be arranged in advance online. During agent seminars, UK representatives and Chinese agents will receive updates and briefings from the department for UK Visas and Immigration, the British Council and English UK, and join panel discussions to get a deeper understanding of the current summer school market in China.
