Guangdong Province National Defense Technology Senior Technical School (NDTSTS) is seeking a UK vocational institution to deliver two training courses, each one week long, and each to a total of 30 secondary vocational school design teachers based in Guangdong, South China, during the period June to September 2016.

Subject to satisfactory delivery of the training, NDTSTS would  like to explore the possibility of further collaboration opportunities between the UK delivery partner and the participating schools, including student mobility and joint programmes.

Training Requirements

Training should focus on one of the following subject areas: product design, industrial design or advertising design. It should discuss the latest industry developments in the UK, global trends, and design pedagogy. Training in the practical application of related design skills should account for no less than 60 per cent of the course. Other relevant content can also be integrated into the course.

The training should be delivered as two consecutive five-day sessions during work days, with a free weekend in between both sessions. Each day should involve six hours of training. A total of 60 secondary vocational school design teachers from vocational and technical colleges across Guangdong province will participate in the training. For the purposes of the training, the participants will be split into two groups, with 30 people taking part in each of the two trainings. Both trainings  can follow an identical curriculum.

The training should be delivered at NDTSTS, which is located in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, during the period June to September 2016.

Requirements for UK delivery partner

Essential:

• The UK partner should have a strong track record in the subject area (product design, industrial design or advertising design).
• The training sessions can either be delivered by a single trainer, or a main trainer and an assistant.
• The main trainer should have no less than eight years’ work experience in the subject area.

Desirable:

• Experience of delivering training in China or working with vocational education institutions in China  

Travel and Accommodation

NDTSTS will arrange and pay for international and domestic transportation, as well as hotel accommodation in China for up to a maximum of two trainers.

About Guangdong Province National Defense Technology Senior Technical School

NDTSTS is a government-funded vocational school and one of China’s national key technical schools. It is a teacher training base appointed by Guangdong provincial government. It is also a training delivery partner of Guangdong Provincial Human Resources and Social Security Department, providing training to secondary vocational school teachers across Guangdong province.
