REMINDER: Call for UK Universities: Bilateral Arts Exchange Programmes

A leading China real estate company, New World China Land Limited (NWCL), is looking for three UK universities to partner with to deliver an arts exchange programme together with the British Council China.

About the programme

Time-frame: 2016-2018 (three year one-year collaborative projects)

Number of partner universities: three (one university to partner each year)

Funding: All expenses will be covered by New World China Land, including the travel and accommodation expenses for eight Chinese art students and two Chinese teachers who will travel to the UK for three weeks in spring, as well as all travel and accommodation expenses for two UK teachers eight UK art students for a three-week reciprocal trip to China in the autumn.

Format

Stage 1 – Two Chinese teachers and eight Chinese art students from a reputable Wuhan University will travel to the UK for a three-week spring programme to collaborate with UK students in sessions inspired and led by UK teachers.

Stage 2 – Two UK university teachers will lead a group of eight UK art students to Wuhan, China for a three week autumn programme, working with the Wuhan art students and teachers involved in stage one.

Stage 3 – All artwork produced from this collaboration will be exhibited at the prestigious New World China Land Art Centre in Wuhan where it will remain.

Prospective UK partner requirements

1. To identify and organise UK university art students and teachers to participate in both the spring and autumn programmes;

2. To design the spring programme, help with visa invitation letters, accommodation and logistical arrangements in the UK for the Chinese visiting teachers and students and provide a venue and facilities for the three-week collaboration;

3. To pro-actively participate in the autumn programme, be responsible for organising visa, travel, logistical arrangements and accommodation for the UK students who participate in the three week autumn programme in Wuhan, China;

4. To cover the professional fees for UK participating teachers where necessary.
