Provider of a Spring or Summer School Programme for an Exclusive Secondary School in the Philippines

British Council in the Philippines would like to expose the students of a local exclusive secondary school to UK education, culture, and international student life through short study tour programmes during UK spring and/or summer time. The programme aims to supplement their basic education with international academic exposure and gain appreciation of the UK through excursions and fun activities during their stay.

We are looking for UK educational partners who can deliver this programme. We intend to send students aged 15 – 17 for a 2-week study tour or summer school programme in the UK at any time between April and July. A typical Summer School programme proposal would be welcomed, but a similar programme during Spring time would be ideal, which is the school break season in the Philippines.

We are anticipating a minimum of ten (10) and a maximum of twenty (20) participants for the first batch. If selected, the partner school may include you in its roster of international programmes being offered to their students annually.

The programme should be able to:
A.    Spark their interest about the vibrancy of the UK through exposure trips to London and other major UK cities/towns
B.    Give the students an opportunity to experience UK culture, food, and/or the arts
C.   Provide an insight into being a student at an actual UK university or boarding school
D.   Develop the students’ social skills and confidence by exposing them in a multi-cultural or international environment
E.    Reinforce the students’ English language and other academic competencies that would be crucial when they transition to undergraduate studies
F.    Provide an academic feedback or report after the programme that will motivate the students to learn and maximise their potential

The UK educational institution will be entitled to:
A.    Reaching highly targeted students and parents
B.    Raising your institution’s brand awareness among high net worth individuals in the Philippines
C.   Raising brand equity and reputation through association with the trusted brands of British Council and Education UK

British Council will be facilitating and arranging all flights, visa, and necessary support in the Philippines.

The UK educational partner will be in-charge of:
A.    Organising the 2-week UK educational experience or study tour programme
      i.  To arrive on a Sunday and leave on a Saturday
B.    Airport transfers
C.   Providing full-board meals
D.   Private accommodation for the students plus a separate room for their adult chaperone/group leader

Since the local institution had previous experiences in sending students to the UK and one of the award criterions for this opportunity is the most economically advantageous; the ideal programme fee shall not exceed GBP1600.00.

The total fee in your proposal shall include:
A.    2-week programme and management fees
B.    Private Accommodations
C.   Full-board meals
D.   Airport Transfers
E.    Fees for exposure trips
F.    Insurance
G.   School Merchandise/Souvenir/s (i.e. bag, ID Lanyard, T-shirt)
H.   British Council Discount (if any)

*Please exclude agent’s commission in the quoted programme fee.

Use the attached form for your proposal. This will include:
A.    Institution profile
B.    Mandatory and Discretionary Rejection
C.   Experience in Study Tours or Summer School Programmes
D.   Details of private accommodation (i.e. shared room in a student residence)
E.    Draft schedule or typical timetable for the two weeks
F.    Main contact from institution
G.   Total Cost for the 2 weeks:
      i.   for 10 Students (plus 1 chaperone)
ii.  for 20 Students (plus 2 chaperones)
H.   Child protection or Care for Under 18s Policy
I.      Self-declaration that all staff involved have undergone necessary criminal records or DBS checks.
