Press Tour 2013

We are pleased to invite UK institutions to host a visit by a delegation of Hong Kong press, which will take place in mid-November 2013.

AIM
In order to maintain the UK’s position as Hong Kong’s first choice for overseas education and to stimulate market demand, British Council will organise a Hong Kong press tour to UK institutions in mid-November 2013. Our objective is to promote all aspects of study in the UK at each level of education. Meanwhile, we also aim to promote individual institutions who will be taking part in this activity.

Journalists from leading Hong Kong media - Oriental Daily, Mingpao Daily, Singtao Daily, South China Morning Post and The Standard, will form the delegation, accompanied by two members of British Council staff.

TARGETED INSITUTIONS IN THE UK
Boarding schools or universities located near Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, York or Bradford

BENEFITS
1. The media participating in the press tour are the leading publications in Hong Kong, which possess strong credibility and a high circulation rate. Hence, this is a highly attractive event in terms of raising your profile and brand awareness in Hong Kong.
2. After the visit the journalists will publish feature stories about each institution they visited, and your institution will benefit from enhanced exposure in these publications. The estimated PR value of these publications is approximately GBP100,000+ in total.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
Participation fee for press tour is GBP2,200 per institution. We would be grateful if each hosting institution can provide meals during the visit and accommodation for one night for the group of 7 people so as to allow these journalists to realistically experience a day of the students’ life. We would also be grateful if institutions who are interested in hosting the press tour would arrange the visit activities in their institution -  suggested activities include campus tour, meetings with staff, and if you have students from Hong Kong, meetings with these students. The group will visit six institutions, including three universities and three schools.
