Pre-departure briefing session in Cyprus

British Council, as every year, is organising a pre departure briefing for students commencing their studies in the UK this September, on Friday 31 August 2012 at Classic Hotel, Nicosia from 1800 to 2100 hours.

The briefing is designed to provide students with practical information on preparing for their journey, tips on travelling to their destination, organisations that can help and advise them during their stay in UK as well as banking and accommodation.  The briefing also covers teaching and learning information at UK institutions and assessment methods.

Students currently studying in the UK will also be there, ready to share the exciting experiences they had with new students.
The briefing will be delivered by Dr Paris Pittakaras, a graduate in the field of Civil & Environmental Engineering who has just completed his PhD in Civil Engineering at The University of Manchester, CV attached.

This is not only a great opportunity for your new students to be informed but also for your institution to offer all necessary updates without the need of a delegate travelling to Cyprus.

At the seminar students will be in a position to receive relevant information from a person who has experienced the position of being both a student and a teacher at a UK University.  In addition to this, students are provided with a well informative pack which includes Eduk First Steps (British Council publication), a very thorough presentation, guides to living in different cities of the UK with information on eating, drinking, shopping and getting around and British Council promotional gifts.  Any additional information you would like your students to receive will be most welcomed and distributed accordingly.

Participation to this seminar including all above plus a coffee break with savouries/biscuits is €35 per student accompanied by one family member.  Any students directed by your institution will be charged only €25, having an additional discount of approximately 30%.
