PE02 - Call for Proposals: General English course + Leadership skills in the UK for a Group of Peruvian Undergraduate University Students

A client of the British Council in Peru is looking for a University in the UK to provide an intensive 2-week General English course (CEFR A1 – B2), which is to be complemented by a leadership programme in the afternoons (for example, workshops, lectures or seminars), considering they will come from different majors. This leading Peruvian university wants its students to enhance their English language skills, immerse themselves in a UK Higher Education environment and experience British everyday life with the purpose of enhancing intercultural skills.

The Peruvian University expects to send students in separated groups (30 to 40 students at a time) from January through December 2020.

The call is open to all institutions who can comply with the requirements set below.

  1. Duration: 2 weeks
  2. Course Dates: January – December 2020
  3. Group Description:
  • A group of minimum 10 Spanish-speaking undergraduate students from a University in Peru. Students come from a diverse range of disciplines.
  • The students are wishing to improve their language skills (speaking and writing) and develop their soft skills and leadership skills.
  • Age range: 18-25
  • One chaperone will accompany the group.
  • There is flexibility as to whether 100 students will travel to the UK, divided into 3 groups/dates - if a price difference occurs (per student) for these different group sizes, please state this in your proposal.
  1. Course Description:
  • General English Course and ESP component: Students in the group have a wide range of English skills (CEFR A1 - B2 level), so we would like proposals to include placement level testing and a rigorous final evaluation that allows to map their development in their language skills.
  • The University would also like that a certification from the University could be issued at the end of the programme.
  • This English course should be complemented with sessions that help the students to improve their soft skills and leadership skills. The ideal split the client is looking for is approximate:
    • 60% of hours per week of General English
    • 40% of hours per week of workshops and activities related to leadership skills.
