Opportunity

The British Council China is currently working with Chenghua International Education and Technology Development (Beijing) Co., Ltd. to organise an inward mission of Chinese private school senior management staff to visit the UK between 26 September to 4 October 2020.  We are now looking for UK schools to host the visiting delegation.

The delegation will comprise of at least 15 senior management staff of Chinese private schools from across China.  The main aim of the visit is professional development and capacity building of the Chinese staff, with a secondary aim of exploring partnership opportunities with UK schools. The delegation would like to improve their understanding of UK schools’ best practice in school management, leadership and teaching.

The below topics are the focus of professional development during the mission:

• School management and leadership structures and processes
• Student-oriented teaching
• Student-oriented curriculum development
• Staff professional development planning

The below are partnership opportunities that the delegation is looking to explore:

• Student and teacher exchange opportunities
• Summer/winter programmes or short-term study options
• Joint/articulation programmes or joint schools in China
• Leadership and teacher training programmes in the UK

Requirements

The UK host school will be responsible for:

• arranging a half-day visit programme (such as a workshop or presentation on the professional development topics above, class observation, campus tour and networking opportunities to discuss the partnership opportunities above)
• providing refreshments and working lunch

• a brief introduction to the host school
• an outline of a workshop or presentation relevant to the topics above
