Opportunity for a UK institution to establish a joint programme in the field of Business with a Chinese university

UK universities are invited to partner with one of China’s 211 universities in Guangdong province to provide a joint articulation programme in the field of Business. Possible subjects include Accounting, Finance, Management, and other similar subjects. The partnership would be in the format of 2+2, and the proposed start date would be Autumn 2020. There are expected to be 600 students, with an IELTS level of 6.0-7.0.

Responsibilities of the two partners

The Chinese university will provide:

  • Delivery of the first two years of the undergraduate programme
  • Promotion and recruitment of students for the programme
  • Teaching and administrative costs of the first two years in China

The UK partner will be expected to:

  • Recognise the first two years of the course as provided by the Chinese partner university
  • Provide support in the quality assurance of the programmes, including hosting academic visits and training faculty
  • Provide the teaching for the last two years of the programme in the UK, and issue the degree certificate upon graduation

Projected timeline for collaboration

  • December 2019 to January 2020:  Initial discussions on the partnership
  • February to March 2020 : Sign partnership agreement
  • March to April 2020: Start student recruitment
  • April to July 2020: Student applications
  • July to August 2020: Visa applications for students
  • September to October 2020: Student enrollment in the UK
