Opportunity to engage with universities in Malaysia for student mobility via the Turing Scheme

Are you a higher education institution in the UK looking to engage with overseas universities for your mobility students as part of the Turing Scheme in September 2021?

Pending the easing of travel restrictions, several universities in Malaysia are willing to host incoming UK students on the Turing scheme.  The universities are also amenable to discussing reciprocal arrangements for student exchange and mobility with the potential UK partners.

What is on offer for academic institutions in the UK?

  • Potential to send outbound UK students to receptive host institutions in a well-established higher education market within a well-developed culturally exciting country that is also safe and friendly.
  • Opportunity to explore reciprocal arrangements which could translate into sustainable mobility programmes which raise the UK institution’s profile and brand awareness in Malaysia, with a view to enhance future student recruitment.
  • Potential to expand this initial partnership into broader international cooperation between the two institutions through collaborations in research, teaching and learning as well as community development, based on respective universities’ areas of interest and expertise.

What is on offer for young people in the UK?

  • Opportunity to undertake a culturally enriching mobility experience that will broaden their horizons and enhance global skills, at an established higher education institution in Malaysia
  • Opportunity to experience life in Malaysia, discover the many cultural and natural resources as well as interact with the multi-ethnic local students and communities in the nation
  • Opportunity to learn more about other Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, etc.
