Opportunity to deliver curriculum development workshop in partnership with Indonesia Islamic University (UIN) Syarief Hidayatullah Jakarta in 2018

UIN Syarief Hidayatullah is a prominent Islamic university in Indonesia and they are eager to establish international joint / double degree programmes particularly with UK universities.
Therefore, they are looking for a UK university which specialises in Islamic studies and/or other subject related with Islamic studies to deliver curriculum development workshop.

Outcome of the workshop:
• Support to Indonesia Islamic University (UIN) in developing curricula on Islamic studies
• Up to 20 Indonesian academics will be trained in the development of internationally excellent curricula using UK as an example
• Increased positive perception of UK excellence in the field, particularly Islamic studies and increased motivation to work with UK on TNE (Trans National Education)

Benefits for the UK Universities:
• Opportunity to work with Indonesia Islamic HE sectors.
• Opportunity to develop relationship with government body responsible in overseeing Islamic HE sectors in Indonesia (MoRA).
• Opportunity to identify potential research projects.

The UK Universities would be expected to provide these following items:
• Design curriculum development workshop programme
• Establish regular communication with Indonesia Islamic University (UIN) and/or MoRA prior to workshop delivery to ensure that the intervention meets their expectation and needs
• Delivery of curriculum development workshop
• Develop tangible actions plan to secure full support from MoRA to ensure that this pilot intervention can be further developed into a more sustainable relationship model between UIN and UK HEIs (e.g. joint degree, double degree).
• Work with British Council in executing the action plan

In this collaboration, British Council Indonesia’s role is to facilitate communication between UK HEIs and Indonesia stakeholders (e.g. UIN, MoRA) and work with UK HEIs in executing the action plan. Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), Republic of Indonesia is also involved in this project.

Timeline:
• Please send your expression of interest and the filled-in proposal form by Friday, 7 September 2018 at the latest.
• Period of inquiries: 29 August – 6 September 2018
• Decision on Tuesday, 11 September 2018
• Workshop delivery: Mid-September to December 2018
