British Council is working with SEAMEO RIHED, South East Asia’s regional organisation for Higher Education, to organise the regional Research Symposium on 14 and 15 November 2019. The symposium is part of a series of events to mark RIHED’s 60^th anniversary.  

We are looking for a speaker from a UK educational institution for one of the conference’s plenary sessions on “UK Excellence in Research”. The speaker will cover the following points:

• Updates on research policy in the UK
• Research best practice in the UK, i.e. innovation, university – industry links etc
• International collaboration opportunities

About the Research Symposium

The Research Symposium will provide an international platform to bring together new and experienced researchers, as well as other interested participants, to explore the current state and future direction of higher education and development of the following themes:

1. Inclusive and Accessible Quality Higher Education
2. Entrepreneurship and Employability
3. Digitalisation of Higher Education
4. Internationalisation and Cross-border Higher Education

What will be covered for the selected speaker

British Council will help with all travel arrangement for this trip. The airfare (premium economy), hotel accommodation, meals, and local transportation, will be covered.

How to volunteer to speak

Please fill out this online form to tell us about your experience and the topic you are going to cover by Monday 4 November 2019 at 5 PM UK Time. The selected speaker will be notified by Tuesday 5 November 2019. The selection will be based on the speaker’s experience and profile and the relevance of the proposed topic.
