Opportunities to develop collaboration with the Royal Thai Police relating to forensic science and crime prevention

The Institute of Training and Research of Scientific Crime Detection, Royal Thai Police, is looking to collaborate with a UK institution in the area of forensic science and crime prevention (including science, technology and innovation policy for police).

Potential areas of collaboration include:

(1) developing and supporting research staff of forensic science, investigation, interrogation, and crime prevention, (2) developing expertise in police research and networking, (3) transferring technology between research institutions within the country or with international education institutions in the field of research, forensic science, investigation, interrogation and crime prevention, (4) drafting a special higher education curriculum for educational institutions, and (5) establishing laboratories to calibrate scientific instruments.

The Institute of Training and Research of Scientific Crime Detection is planning to visit the UK to meet with institutions or universities interested in collaboration in the areas mentioned above.

The Institute is responsible for integrating the policies of forensic science, investigation, interrogation and crime prevention into police innovation strategy. It is also a research cluster of forensic science, investigation, interrogation, and crime prevention. The institution owns calibration equipment and scientific instruments, certifies police officers for their use, and acts as a centre for specialised forensic science. It also carries out training and development for Royal Thai Police officials.
