New deadline: travel grants for leadership workshop in Thailand

Deadline extended to 10 October 2024

UK academics can apply for travel grants to attend the Transformative Leadership Workshop in Bangkok, Thailand, on 24-25 October 2024

This workshop is part of the Strengthening Leadership with Gender Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity in Higher Education Institutions in Southeast Asia (GEDI) project, which focuses on fostering equitable access and inclusion within faculty and leadership roles across higher education institutions in Southeast Asia.

The project is co-led by SEAMEO RIHED and the British Council.

About the workshop

The Transformative Leadership Workshop aims to facilitate collaboration between UK and Southeast Asian institutions by providing travel grants for UK academics to actively participate in the GEDI Phase II project.

Up to six UK academics will be selected to receive the travel grant, which will cover travel expenses to attend the workshop in Thailand.

This workshop is a unique opportunity for participants to engage directly with senior policymakers and university leaders from Southeast Asia. Participants will explore critical issues related to Gender Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity and contribute to ongoing efforts to embed gender-sensitive leadership and practices in higher education. The workshop will also foster deeper collaborations and partnerships, reinforcing the spirit of collective learning between the UK and Southeast Asia.
