About the International Business School of the Chongqing Technology and Business University

IBS is a well-established Sino-Foreign Cooperative Institution approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education back in 2006. Since its establishment, IBS has developed various partnerships and joint programmes with universities from the USA, France, Canada and the UK. There are six business majors with 2,100 undergraduate students, including 1,600 in Sino-foreign domestic programmes, and 500 in Sino-foreign double majors programmes, out of which more than 300 students have successfully entered the overseas stage of study. There are approximately 200 teachers with an international background at IBS, of whom about 35% are foreign teachers. IBS has carried out a lot of curriculum reform to help students strengthen their language competence and prepare for the overseas study destination.

In order to enhance its connectivity and influence under China’s One Belt, One Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt Initiative, Chongqing is reinforcing its position as a shipping centre in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and as a national logistics hub. Efforts are also being focused on developing the city into a financial centre and a technology education centre.
