EMI and EME training provision opportunity for China

As part of British Council China's ongoing partnership with Department for International Trade China and English UK, a possible business development opportunity is available for UK providers looking to export their services and expertise. 

This opportunity is focused on supporting English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) and English as a Medium of Education (EME) training and provision in Chinese universities. DIT China will be producing a catalogue, translated into Chinese, for distribution amongst Chinese universities listing UK providers with their expertise and experience. There will also be a seminar about this opportunity at the English UK Summit on Monday 14 September. 

Interested UK providers should be able to demonstrate prior experience of EMI / EME in at least one of the following areas:

  • Teacher Training for teachers due to deliver in English

  • Curriculum development

  • Materials development

  • Quality assurance

  • Other related and supporting services, e.g. digital support

  • Providers should be able to deliver at least part of their offer in China

  • Experience in CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) is relevant
