Education Intelligence releases new Inside Guide report

A small, relatively affluent island state, Trinidad and Tobago is one of the world’s largest exporters of natural gas.  Education is a high priority in this country and there has been a substantial increase in the tertiary participation rate in the last decade, rising from seven per cent in 2001 to 40 per cent in 2008. The government has fully subsidised undergraduate education since 2004. UNESCO estimates that just over 5,100 students from Trinidad and Tobago studied abroad in 2011, with 33 per cent going to the US and 15 per cent to the UK.

This report examines the island country, providing an overview of key trends and offering insights on how to capitalise on potential higher education opportunities.
