Consultants needed to write materials for teacher training in Burma

Location: Any
Apply by: Midnight Sunday March 15th 2015
Start date: Monday 6th April 2015
End date: Friday 30th October 2015

The British Council in Burma is looking for materials writing consultant(s) to write teaching methodology training resources to be used to train Burmese teacher educators across Burma and for subsequent use in developing world contexts.

The materials need to be suitable for a developing world context; for use with beneficiaries with a low level of English (A2) and reflecting best practice in terms of combining teacher directed/direct-instruction/whole class teaching with more child-centred/constructivist approaches.

The syllabus comprises eight modules. Some modules will involve adapting existing British Council material and some will need to be written from scratch. Consultants can apply to write however many modules they wish. The consultancy will involve negotiating the content of each module; initial writing of student material and trainer guide, peer checking of materials and re-writing following editing and trialling.
