Chongqing Normal University calls for UK partner institutions to establish a joint programme in the subject areas of education, communications and biology

Chongqing Normal University (CNU) is looking for UK partners to develop joint 3+1 / 4+0 bachelor degree programmes in the subject areas of education, communications and biology.

Areas of responsibilities for the two collaborating parties

UK partners:

The UK partners will be expected to:

  • contribute to the curriculum design of the subjects
  • provide quality assurance of the joint programmes
  • providing the teaching staff.   

Chongqing Normal University:

CNU will be responsible for:

  • providing the teaching premises in China
  • marketing the programmes
  • student recruitment
  • providing the teaching staff.  

Proposed timeline for cooperation

1. The two sides will jointly complete the course mapping and articulation and sign the agreement of cooperation by July 2017.

2. The two sides will jointly prepare the required documents to be submitted in September to the Chinese Ministry of Education for approval.

3. By end of September 2017, the two sides will submit the application for a China-foreign jointly-run program to the Ministry of Education, China.

4. The programme will enroll students who would have passed the 2018 “China national college entrance examination” (Gaokao) upon approval by the Ministry of Education.

About CNU

Chongqing Normal University CNU) was founded in 1954 and is a full-time comprehensive institution of higher education. CNU is authorised to award Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees and currently has over 29,400 full time students and over 1,700 teachers, including more than 700 professors and associate professors.

CNU was designated as one of the first Chinese Language Educational Centres by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Chinese State Council, and it was awarded the National Teaching Base for International Promotion of Chinese (Chongqing) by Confucius Institute Headquarters in 2012

CNU has successively established cooperation and exchange relationships with education institutions in over 20 countries and currently recruits more than 600 overseas students every year. It has set up the Teacher’s College of Chinese Language in Indonesia and the UK, and implemented the 2+2 education system.
