Chinese university seeks UK partner for joint programmes in Sichuan, China

Opportunity

Sichuan University of Science and Engineering (SUSE) hopes to improve its undergraduate engineering education by introducing international quality resources, and is seeking a UK university partner with relevant strengths to develop undergraduate dual-degree joint programmes in the following subject areas:

-     Electronic Information Engineering,

-     Electrical Engineering Automation,

-     Mechanical Design and Automation.

Brief Introduction of SUSE

SUSE was founded in 1965 as the Sichuan Light Chemical Industry College. In 2003, four colleges merged with Sichuan Light Chemical Industry College to become SUSE, which is now a key provincial comprehensive university. SUSE has a faculty of 1,500 and a student population of more than 29,000, including 600 master degree students. There are 16 colleges and departments, strong in light chemical engineering, engineering and science. In 2011 the university became one of the Chinese universities approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education to cultivate outstanding engineers.

SUSE is located in a city called Zigong, the third largest city in Sichuan province, South West China. Zigong has long been known as "Salt City". The people of Zigong have been drilling in the area for Salt for around 2000 years and its ancient salt trade makes it a historic and cultural destination.
