Chinese education agency seeks UK partner to jointly develop outdoor education programmes

Changing Education Agency, based in Chongqing, Southwest China, is seeking a UK partner with rich experience and resources in the field of outdoor education programmes (such as scouting) to jointly develop outdoor education programmes for young children in primary and secondary education.

Expectations

Changing Education Agency wants to improve its outdoor offering, such as by jointly setting up outdoor weekend and holiday camps, training volunteers, sharing course systems, and other activities, with a view to fostering the participating children’s outdoor skills and experiences. Ideally the activities should complement school curricula.

Benefits

This is an opportunity for the UK institution to position itself as a strategic partner for outdoor education development in a fast developing area in Southwest China, and to build awareness of its brand in Chongqing, potentially leading to future engagement opportunities.

Areas of responsibility for the two collaborating parties

UK partner:

The UK partner will be expected to provide consultancy services, contribute to the programme design, and provide relevant training.

Changing Education Agency:

Changing Education Agency will be responsible for providing the infrastructure of the outdoor education programmes, for recruiting students to join the programmes, and for networking with schools and education authorities.

Brief introduction of Changing Education Agency

Changing Education Consulting Agency was founded in 2015. It is an authorised agency under the China Scholarship Council and has an existing partnership with Southwest University’s Outdoor Environment Education Centre. It is interested in learning from the UK’s experience of running outdoor education programmes (such as scouting).

About Chongqing

Chongqing is one of the largest and most important industrial and commercial cities in Southwest China, and an important national transport hub. It is the only municipality in Southwest China directly under the control of China’s central government, and is rich in natural resources, including forests, karst topography and the Yangtze River, with a number of designated world heritage sites under the UNESCO.
