China Education Expo 2021 | Making the Most of CEE's New Solutions

Background information

The China Education Expo (CEE) is one of the largest international education events in China, approved by the Ministry of Education and organised by China Education Association of International Exchange (CEAIE). The British Council supports UK institutions who attend the China Education Expo through our Study UK campaign. Please note that the British Council does not organise the exhibition and fees are paid directly to the Chinese organiser.

New Solutions

CEE is looking towards a hybrid event not only for those schools who can send their local staff based in China to the exhibition but also for those who may not attend the fair due to the travel restriction.

For those who are prevented from attending CEE in person due to the pandemic, CEE offer 3 methods:

• Mini Stand: open space with booth set-up, 1 table with 4 chairs, booth decoration, one interpreter, monitor with free wireless internet connection for video meeting. RMB22,500 (Beijing), RMB15,300 (Guangzhou), RMB18,000 (Shanghai)
Meeting Table: 1 table with 4 chairs, one interpreter, monitor with free wireless internet connection for video meeting, 3 hours. RMB12,000
• Webinar: 30 minutes launched during the on-site seminar room, 50-people capacity room, laptop, AV equipment and multi-media projector. RMB5,000

MARKET INFORMATION

The Education Expo receives extensive media and public attention every year. This year, the Education Expo will visit three cities, providing the opportunity for UK institutions to showcase their educational offering and engage with prospective Chinese students and their parents face-to-face. The British Council supports UK institutions who attend the China Education Expo through our Study UK campaign.

The British Council in China is organising the UK pavilion at the Expo, and will promote the event and increase exposure of the participating universities by using the following marketing channels:

  • distributing print media to key national and local media outlets: by discussing relevant topics that are of interest to the Chinese public, these print media are an innovative way to promote UK education
  • online promotion: the British Council has popular Education UK accounts on Chinese social media portals, such as on Sina Weibo (280,000 followers) and WeChat (more than 130,000 followers)
  • offline promotion: the British Council will attend the Education Expo press conference on behalf of all UK exhibitors, and will introduce UK education updates and features of the UK pavilion to all key media contacts across the nation.
