The British Council USA is offering a career development workshop for recently graduated UK alumni in New York City. The workshop is open to alumni who have recently returned to the US from studying in the UK or UK alumni who have recently arrived to the US.

At the career development workshop, attendees will:
-Receive a one-on-one resume review from a career guidance professional
-Learn how to highlight their international experience on their resume and at job interviews
-Get tips on successful networking strategies in New York City
-Find out how to stay connected

Attendees will enjoy a networking reception with UK alumni based in New York City following the workshop. Refreshments will be provided during the workshop and reception.

Draft agenda:

3:00-4:15 One-on-one resume reviews (15 minute time slots)

4:15-4:30 Registration

4:30-4:45 Welcome

4:45-5:30 Session 1: Value of UK study experience in the workplace (panel discussion)

5:30-5:45 Break

5:45-6:30 Session 2: Establishing your network in NYC (panel discussion)

6:30-8:30 Alumni reception and resource fair

Fee: £300 (exc VAT)
The event fee includes:
-Participating universities can send invitations for the workshop (recent graduates) and the reception (all alumni) to their alumni who are based in New York City
-The British Council will promote the event on Facebook and Linked In targeting participating universities' alumni
-Participating universities can provide materials about their alumni organisation to be displayed during the resource fair
-The British Council will send attendee information and an event report to participating universities following the event

The career development workshop and alumni reception is an existing event offered through the Education UK Alumni Network. We are opening this single event to give all institutions an opportunity to support their recently graduated students.
