Opportunity

The Capital University of Economics and Business is looking for UK partners to develop and deliver articulation programmes in the fields of Theatre & Drama Education, Script Writing, Film & TV Production, Performing Arts and Broadcasting for undergraduate. They aim to recruit up to 100 students per year with the first cohort entering in Spring  2018.

As models for the programmes, they propose the 1+3 model (the first year spent in China as a foundation year and the last three years in the UK) or 2+2 model for undergraduate degrees. Upon successful completion of the programmes, students should receive a Bachelor’s degree in their field from the UK partner university.

This is an opportunity for the selected UK partners to establish long-term partnerships with one of the top universities in Beijing, with potential for expansion into other fields, such as student and faculty exchange programmes or joint research. It is also an opportunity for the UK partners to raise their institutions’ profiles and brand awareness in China.

Areas of responsibility for the two collaborating parties

The selected UK partners will be expected to work with the Capital University of Economics and Business to:

• agree on the content of courses of CUEB that can be transferred
• admit students who have met their entry requirements
• issue a Bachelor’s degree to the students.

The Capital University of Economics and Business will be responsible for:

• promoting and recruiting students for the programmes
• providing qualified teaching staff as well as the required teaching premises and logistical support for the programmes
• providing a one-year foundation programme for those students pursuing undergraduate degree courses at the UK university
• supporting prospective students in preparing to study in the UK as part of the programmes.

About the Capital University of Economics and Business

The Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB), located in Beijing, was founded in 1956 as a key university in the Beijing municipality.
