Cancellation – China Education Expo 2020

The British Council has received notification from CEE that their October exhibition has been cancelled. Please see below for the reasons provided by CEE.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting crisis, there are too many uncertainties regarding large gatherings, national border controls and international flights etc. Under such circumstances, we are not sure we could provide a safe and quality international education exhibition this October as we did before. After careful and full consideration, we deeply regret to inform you that 2020 China Education Expo has to be cancelled. We do apologize for any inconveniences caused here from.

We are sincerely grateful to your continuous support for the past 20 years and we've been trying and will go on to try to explore and provide more online promotional opportunities for our exhibitors despite the cancellation of the on-site show. We welcome any ideas and suggestions on what we can do to help you at the special period.

Hand in hand, let's stay safe and sound in 2020 and look forward to a better CEE 2021.

MARKET INFORMATION

The China Education Expo is one of the largest international education events in China. Approved by the Ministry of Education and organised by China Education Association of International Exchange (CEAIE), the Education Expo receives extensive media and public attention every year. This year, the Education Expo will visit four cities, providing the opportunity for UK institutions to showcase their educational offering and engage with prospective Chinese students and their parents face-to-face.

The British Council in China is organising the UK pavilion at the Expo, and will promote the event and increase exposure of the participating universities by using the following marketing channels:

  • distributing print media to key national and local media outlets: by discussing relevant topics that are of interest to the Chinese public, these print media are an innovative way to promote UK education
  • online promotion: the British Council has popular Education UK accounts on Chinese social media portals, such as on Sina Weibo (180,000 followers) and WeChat (more than 120,000 followers)
  • offline promotion: the British Council will attend the Education Expo press conference on behalf of all UK exhibitors, and will introduce UK education updates and features of the UK pavilion to all key media contacts across the nation.
