Project introduction

The Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB) plans to set up a joint program with a UK university on undergraduate degree level, in subject areas of Economics, Management, Finance, and Banking. Students who graduate from the program will earn dual degrees from both universities. The cooperation model could be 2+2, 3+1 or 4+0. CUEB hopes to start recruiting students from September 2014.

The selected UK partner is expected to provide:

• UK faculty, administrative staff and other teaching resources to teach at least five courses in China
• At least one-week teacher training for Chinese faculty of the program twice a year
• An on-campus office for program co-management

Background of Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB)

The Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB) was founded in 1956 and was established as a key university under direct administration of Beijing Municipal Education Commission. The university has thirty eight undergraduate programs and grants including doctoral degrees for four top tier disciplines including: Applied Economics, Management Science and Engineering, Business Administration and Statistics. 

Currently, there are 20,436 students enrolled at CUEB. Admission scores for undergraduates are ranked as one of the top among the universities and colleges in Beijing. CUEB has a strong and highly-credentialed faculty and research team. Currently, there are 1,459 faculty and staff members, including 750 instructors.  In respect to the graduate employment rate,it has remained at a steady rate of 95 per cent and above for the past five years.

The CUEB maintains cooperation with more than 50 overseas universities. In collaboration with the Deakin University (Australia), CPA Australia, and the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the university launched a Master of Professional Accounting program with an internationally recognised CPA qualification.
