Call for submissions for the ‘Destination: UK Boarding Schools & Sixth Form Colleges’ campaign

We are delighted to announce that activities for the final year of our ‘Destination: UK Boarding School & Sixth Form Colleges’ campaign in China are now open for registration.

‘Destination: UK Boarding Schools & Sixth Form Colleges’ is a campaign to grow the international market of the UK’s school sector. It is a series of on- and offline programmes that will run throughout 2015 and is aimed at increasing international enrolment into UK boarding schools and sixth form colleges, while also profiling their educational expertise through dialogue between UK and Chinese sector professionals.

UK Boarding School Head Teacher Mission**

Ten UK boarding school head teachers will visit China to showcase their institutions’ strengths to agents and potential students and raise their sector’s profile in the China market.

Activities will include exhibitions, agent workshops, student interviews, agent fairs, and media interviews.

UK Sixth Form College Mission**

Five sixth form college principals will visit China to showcase their institutions’ strengths to agents and potential students and raise their sector’s profile in the China market.

UK  Boarding Schools & Sixth Form College video campaign

Three videos will be produced for the UK boarding school sector and will be promoted on social media platforms in China. The video topics will cover the characteristics of UK boarding schools, single gender education, and how the UK offers a tailored education experience for different age groups.

The British Council will send film crews to the participating schools, which will be expected to cooperate and provide support during the filming process.

UK Boarding School & Sixth Form College Scholarship Initiative***

The Scholarship Initiative was set up in 2014 to increase awareness of scholarships offered by UK boarding schools and sixth form colleges to Chinese students.

The British Council will promote UK boarding schools and sixth form colleges that are offering scholarships to Chinese students through its traditional and digital media channels.
